01
Requirements Gathering
It is difficult to build a solution if you do not know the requirements.
Requirements gathering can be conducted through One-on-one Interviews, Group Interviews, Questionnaires, Prototyping, Competitive Analysis etc.
02
User Research
User research focuses on understanding user behaviors, needs, and motivations.
The types of user research can or should perform will depend on the type of system you are developing, your timeline, and your environment.
03
Personas
Persona is the description of a representative user from a single user group.
These representations should be based on qualitative and some quantitative user research and web analytics. It focuses on the major needs and expectations of the most important user group.
04
Information Architecture
Information Architecture helps user in completing a task and provides an intuitive access to content.
The objective of information architecture is to ensure that the right information is presented, in the right place, at the right time, in the right way.
05
Task Flows
Task flow shows how users travel through the user interface while performing a specific task.
Task flows based on data gathering. It shows the users mental model and how do they expect the activity to flow.
06
Wireframing
Wireframe is a basic illustration of structure and items on web page.
It takes into consideration all page elements and allows easy changes, updates, or revisions.
07
Prototyping
Prototypes allow the design team to explore ideas before implementing them by creating a mock-up of the product.
A prototype can range from a paper mock-up to interactive click through.
08
Storyboarding
A storyboard is visual representation of how a user will interact with an application or interface.
While creating a storyboard, it is important to consider that who is going to use the interface, and how.
09
Heuristic Evaluation
Heuristic evaluation is a method of reviewing user interface design and compares it against accepted usability principles.
Heuristic evaluation should not replace usability testing. Although the heuristics relate to criteria that affect product’s usability, the issues identified in a heuristic evaluation are different from those found in a usability test.
10
Usability Testing
Usability testing is about testing the design concepts and user journeys with the real users.
Usability testing can evaluate various attributes of the design. Some common types of usability testing are clickable prototype, paper prototypes etc.
